Terms of Service

Last updated: July 2025

BETA

4egis is currently in public beta.

The Service is provided free of charge for evaluation and educational purposes during the beta period. No paid plans are currently active. Features, data availability, and service uptime may change without prior notice.

All analysis results, risk assessments, and geospatial data are for informational purposes only and should not be relied upon for emergency planning, construction, insurance, or any safety-critical decisions.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using 4egis ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

4egis is an AI-powered geospatial intelligence platform focused on Greece. It provides interactive maps, spatial analysis (including flood risk, wildfire risk, area analysis), statistical visualization, route planning, and data exploration capabilities through natural language queries.

3. User Accounts

You may use 4egis as a guest with limited functionality, or create an account for full access.

If you create an account, you are responsible for maintaining the security of your credentials and for all activities under your account.

Free accounts may save up to 3 projects. Additional capacity may be available through future paid plans.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

  • Use the Service to attempt SQL injection, XSS, or any form of attack
  • Circumvent rate limits or abuse the API
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or derive the source code of the Service
  • Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access the Service without permission
  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Impersonate another person or entity
  • Upload or transmit malicious code

5. Data & Analysis Disclaimer

4egis analyses are for informational and educational purposes only. They should NOT be used as the sole basis for emergency planning, construction decisions, insurance assessments, or any safety-critical applications.

Risk assessments (flood, wildfire, etc.) are generated from open-source data (OpenStreetMap, Open-Meteo, Overpass API) and AI models. While we strive for accuracy, results may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies due to limitations in source data, model assumptions, or API availability.

Statistical data sourced from ELSTAT and other agencies is presented as-is and may not reflect the most current figures.

6. Intellectual Property

The 4egis platform, including its design, code, and branding, is the property of 4egis. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Service without permission.

Map data is provided by OpenStreetMap contributors under the ODbL license. Copernicus data is provided by the European Environment Agency. These are subject to their respective licenses.

Maps and analysis exports you generate through the Service are yours to use, provided you include appropriate attribution for underlying data sources as shown in the export templates.

7. Limitation of Liability

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, 4EGIS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR DATA, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

8. Service Availability

We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation of the Service. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any part of it) at any time without prior notice. Third-party APIs that we depend on (OpenStreetMap, Open-Meteo, Groq, etc.) may have their own availability constraints.

9. Rate Limits

To ensure fair usage, the Service enforces rate limits. Guest users are limited to 15 queries per minute. Authenticated users have higher limits. Exceeding these limits will result in temporary request blocking.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at our discretion, including for violations of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. You may delete your account at any time through the Account settings page.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Hellenic Republic (Greece) and applicable European Union regulations. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Athens, Greece.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance. For material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify registered users.

13. Contact
